Jumla declared open defecation free

JumlaJumla / March 3: Jumla district has been declared as open defecation free zone. With this decision, the district became the 34th district to be declared so.

Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Prem Bahadur Singh announced this decision. The indicators have shown that the district has 85 per cent sanitation remarks.

Addressing the programme Minister Singh said that with the decision, the district has got new distinction in the area of sanitation and opened a new door for development and prosperity.

Jumla district has 26 VDCs and one Municipality. It is said Jumla has achieved 86 per cent success in sanitation. RSS
