Civil Aviation Minister gives succour to bereaved family of pilot

kastmandap-accident-1Kathmandu / March 4: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Prasad Pokharel this morning visited the family of pilot late Roshan Manandhar at local Dallu and extended condolences.

Manadhar died in a plane crash at Solighopte of Myagdi district on February 24. Twenty-three people including the crew members on board a Twin-Otter aircraft of the Tara Air died in the crash. The plane had taken off from Pokhara for Jomsom.

In the meeting the members of the bereaved family urged Minister Pokharel to take maximum measures to make Nepali skies safe and that no other families would have to bear such tragedy in future.

Minister Pokharel tried to reassure the bereaved members of the family that an investigation committee has been formed to find out the causes behind the airplane accident and that the government would take measures formulating an action plan based on the recommendation of the investigation report.

The Minister was accompanied by the three members of the investigation committee during the family visit. RSS
