Over Rs 40 million distributed for warm clothes

blanket for earthquake victimsDamauli / March 6: The District Administration Office, Tanahun, has distributed more than Rs 40 million to the quake affected people in the district to purchase the warm clothes.

The amount was provided to the people whose houses were completely damaged after the April 25 earthquake and the subsequent aftershocks in Shuklagandaki Municipality and 35 VDCs in the district. The Office added that each family was provided with Rs 10,000.

The Office also said that of the 5,648 houses destroyed after the quake, a total of 4,077 households received the amount while 1,571 families are yet to get the amount.

Assistant Chief District Officer, Kishor Kumar Chaudhary, said that request has been made to the central level for seeking needed money to dole out to the remaining other quake-affected families. The total amount for the purpose is estimated to reach nearly Rs 70 million, it is said. RSS
