Voting underway in NC’s National Convention

NC VotingKathmandu / March 6: The voting process for the selection of the leadership in the ongoing 13th National Convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) started at 8:00 am today. The voters have lined up in Rasatriya Sabhagriha after 8:00 am to cast their ballot for picking the party’s fresh leadership.

Member of the NC’s Central Election Committee, Gopal Krishna Ghimire, said that a total of 312 leaders have fielded their nomination for 61 posts including three office-bearers.

The Central Election Committee said that 10 leaders have fielded their nominations for the party president, general secretary and treasurer.

NC’s Acting President Ram Chandra Poudel, senior leader Sher Deuba and general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula are contesting for the post of the president with their separate panels while Dr Shashanka Koirala, Arjun Narsingh KC and Gagan Kumar Thapa for the post of the general secretary. RSS
