Three senior women athletes feted

Maiti_Nepal_LogoKathmandu / March 6: Three veteran women athletes have been honoured amidst a programme here today.

Maiti Nepal, a non-profit organisation dedicated to fighting against women trafficking, honoured Sangina Baidya, Tulasa Singh and Debu Thapa in recongisition of their incomparable contribution to boosting up nation’s image through the means of sports.

They were feted by former Speaker Damannath Dhungana on the occasion of the 106th International Women’s Day. On the occasion, the former Speaker insisted on the empowerment of women for the better future of the nation.

Maiti Nepal’s founding president Anuradha Koirala stressed that girls need equal treatment and education on a par with boys to build an equitable society. RSS
