PM Oli inaugurates blood transmission centre and Mechi Campaign

Oli SammanJhapa / March 10: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday has inaugurated the Blood Transmission Service building jointly constructed by Nepal Red Cross Society Jhapa Chapter and its Birtramod Sub-Chapter.

The building based in Birtamod-1 (Devi Panchakanya plotting) was constructed at the total investment of Rs 5.5 million. The building construction began around two and half years back, said Secretary at Nepal Red Cross Birtamod Yek Raj Giri.

Meanwhile, individuals contributing to the construction of the building were felicitated on the occasion.

Similarly, Prime Minister Oli also inaugurated the ‘Mechi Campaign’ at Shukhani of the district. The place, Sukhani is the historical place where five communist leaders were killed during the party-less Panchyat rule.

While inaugurating the campaign, PM Oli, who is also the chair of the CPN (UML), said that Jhapa was a historical place and the revolution taken in the district paved the way for republicanism.

He added that the district was important even for religious, cultural, touristic and political identity. PM Oli further said that the dream of the martyrs could be materialized only when their path was followed.

In another context, PM Oli added that the government was working for making beautiful Nepal after completing reconstruction projects, therefore, the government was committed to the development.

Also present on the occasion were Minister for Law and Justice Agni Kharel, lawmakers, local leaders among others.

The first phase of the campaign will complete reaching at Dhungesanghu of Taplejung district on March 16. Similarly, the second phase campaign would end reaching in Sunsari on March 19 after reaching at Guphapokhari, Tinjure, Basnatapur, Chhintang of various districts.

The campaign comprises district party chairs, leaders, lawmakers, media persons among others, it is learnt. The campaign would be attended by senior leader Jhalanath Khanal in Ilam on March 13, leader Subas Nembang in Panchthar on March 14 and Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai in Taplejung on March 15, it is learnt.

The UML Mechi Zonal committee has organized the campaign aimed at promoting domestic tourism. RSS
