Metropolition Police proposes 21 locations for overhead bridges

Overhead bridgeKathmandu, March 13: The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division has identified 21 locations in the Kathmandu Valley which need overhead bridges for the convenience of pedestrians and to reduce traffic jam.

The most crowded areas in the capital- Putalisadak, Maitighar, Babarmahal, Baneshwor, Min Bhawan, Koteshwor, Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) gate, Thapahali, Kesharmahal, Sorhakhutte Galkhopakha, Patan, Boudha and Satodobato, among others- are in the need of overhead bridges, as identified by the Division. Traffic police are facing difficulty in traffic management in the absence of alternative route for pedestrians in these areas, according to Division Spokesperson Lokendra Malla.

Presently, 22 areas in the Valley have overhead bridges and sub-ways. RSS
