Solar Mini-Grid inaugurated in Chamistar and Bahuni Danda

solar panelKhotang / March 14: Solar Mini-Grid projects set up at the Bahuni Danda and Chamistaar VDC at the western part of the district today came into operation as part of the government’s plan to reduce power burden.

Minister for Population and Environment, Bishwendra Paswan, inaugurated the Solar Mini Grid projects in both the areas.

Minister Paswan said the government was preparing the groundwork for establishing solar energy offices in each of the provinces as part of its campaign to lessen the continuing power burden in the country.

“The government is launching a special campaign to reduce power burden in the country,” Minister Paswan said, adding “Preparations are afoot to advance the work by establishing solar energy offices in each and every provinces.”

Under financial assistance from various donor agencies and at the initiative of the Halesi Solar Minigrid Company Pvt, Solar Mini-Grids have been brought into operation in Bahuni Danda, Chamistar and Harkapur of Okhaldhunga, said Project’s Senior Engineer, Jivan Vaidya.

According to the senior engineer, 20 kilowatts of energy has been generated from Chamistar, 22 in Bahuni Danda and 31 in Harkapur. RSS
