Save tortoise campaign kicks off

TortoiseMorang / March 16: The Betana Wetland based in Belbari of Morang has put in place a campaign to protect tortoise.

According to Wetland Preservation Committee member Bhojraj Basnet, they came up with the move to protect disappearing species of tortoise in the wetland area.

There are around 300 tortoises of different eight species in the lake of the wetland area, informed Basnet.

The area now has drawn an increasing inflow of domestic and foreign tourists for recreation besides observing diverse species of tortoises. RSS
