Education materials to freed Kamlari children

Dang / March 17: The central committee of the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) on Wednesday provided educational materials and scholarship worth Rs 200,000 to children of freed Kamlari (previous bonded labourers).

The support recipient children are the students of Bal Janata Higher Secondary School in Deukhuri of Dang. Some 38 freed Kamlari children were provided with school uniform and bag each.

Likewise, Basanti Chaudhary and Saraswoti Chaudhary were granted scholarships worth Rs 15,000 each to support their pursuit for Master’s Degree education.

The NEFIN also provided 11 steel-made cupboards to freed Kamlari families. The Freed Kamlari Development Forum organized the programme. RSS
