Solar street lights installation from Guheswhori to Gokarna

Solar lightKathmandu / March 17: The installation of solar street lights along the Bagmati river bank at the side of road stretch from Gokarna to Guheswori and in public locations around it started today.

Lawmaker, Rameshwor Phuyal, launched the installation of the solar lights in the area.

The lawmaker had earlier said that solar lights would be set up at public locations, temple premises and schools, while adding that solar energy would be used in private residences and factories after necessary groundwork.

Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), Executive Director, Ram Prasad Dhital, said the solar street lights were set up as part of the campaign to lessen energy burden in the country.

A Solar Light Programme Consumers Committee was also formed among the folks living along the stretch of the Bagmati river bank today itself. RSS
