SAG gold medalists football team members honoured

Bhaktapur / Mar 21: The members of the Nepali national football team that clinched the coveted gold medal in the 12th South Asian Games were honoured by the NIST foundation here Monday.

The players, the coaches and the physio of the team received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 each, and a letter of appreciation.

At the function held in Lokanthali of Madhyapur Thimi, former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav appreciated the laurels that the athletes brought home despite poor sport facilities and lack of financial incentive.

Foundation Chair Dr Madhav Prasad Baral, acting President of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and other speakers also appreciated the gold medalist Nepali football team and called for more state investment in the sector. RSS
