Sauraha to have a Chepang Museum

ChitwanPackageChitwan / March 28: A Chepang museum is to be established in Sauraha of Chitwan.

The Chepang museum set up by the Chepang Protection Centre in Gambesi of Ratnanagar is being expanded to the tourist town of Sauraha. The expansion is being made in order to help collect funds for the upbringing of the Chepang children under the protection of the Centre, its Chair KP Sharan Sharma said.

The target is to draw in more tourists and collect funds through entry fee and other donations. The museum brings together 535 various goods related to the Chepang ethnic group, and some of them are centuries-old.

The centre has taken the responsibility of the upbringing of 141 Chepang children. RSS
