ANFA to award one million each to gold medalists

Nepali Football teamKathmandu / April 6: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has decided to award Rs. 0.5 million in cash each to the members of the national football team that won the Bangabandhu Gold cup and the coveted gold medal in the 12th South Asian Games (SAG) held in India recently.

The ANFA Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday took a decision to that end. Accordingly as many of the team members were the same in both the teams, majority of them would be taking home Rs. one million each.

Likewise, the members of the national women’s football team that won silver medal in the 12th SAG will be receiving Rs. 100,000 each.

The meeting chaired by Acting ANFA President Narendra Shrestha also decided to hold a ‘U-16 football tournament’ annually in memory of then Acting ANFA President Lalit Krishna Shrestha. The tournament will start from next year. RSS
