Country will receive rainfall for next few days: MFD

RainfallKathmandu / June 5: Water vapour-rich winds rising from the Bay of Bengal and local winds caused rainfalls that continues in various parts of the country for the past few days, said the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

The MFD said that as a result of this, there is a weather change across various parts of the country today and some parts of eastern, western and mid western regions received rainfalls.

The weather pattern will remain the same and various parts of the country will continue to receive rainfalls for the next few days. Meanwhile, meteorologist Barun Poudel said that some problems in the weather pattern in pre-monsoon is likely to cause delay in the arrival of monsoon. Monsoon in Nepal generally starts from June 10. He said that low pressure areas over the Bay of Bengal being inactive are also contributor to the delay.

Poudel said that the effect of westerly winds from the western belt, formation of low pressure areas in the mid belt and water vapour-rich winds rising from the Bay of Bengal are attributed to the change in the weather pattern in Nepal.

Meanwhile, the MFD said that most of the parts of Nepal including Kathmandu valley will witness rainfalls today evening. RSS
