Damak / June 10: “Nepal, as a sovereign and independent country, will never dance in tune of any foreigners,” reaffirmed Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday.

Addressing the 10th town assembly of CPN (UML), Damak Chapter in Damak, Jhapa on Friday, PM Oli who is also the Chairman of the CPN-UML reiterated that it is not appropriate for any country to recommend any dos and don’ts to its neighbour.

“Nepal will, however, always maintain strong and cordial ties with international communities as well as its neighbouring countries,” he added.

Oli claimed that he bore the brunt of India-imposed border blockade and agitation waged by Madhesh-centric political parties all alone since he assumed the leadership.

The PM also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bring the new constitution into effect and to hold the local bodies’ election.

Also, speaking at the programme, deputy leader of the parliamentary party of CPN (UML), Subash Nembang claimed that the UML would emerge as the biggest political party following the local bodies’ election.

The town assembly is likely to elect a new leadership in Damak town committee. RSS
