Baitadi local peace committee receives 482 conflict-era cases

Baitadi / June 13: The local peace committee office, Baitadi, has received a total of 482 cases of crimes committed during the Maoist decade-long insurgency.

Of the cases, 412 belong to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) while 64 have been filed with the Commission of Inquiry into Enforced Disappearances (CIED).

The last date to file conflict-era cases with the CIED is the end of Nepali month of Asadh while the TRC has set the last date to receive such cases at the end of Nepali month of Jestha.

Likewise in Palpa, the local peace committee office has received the total 57 war-era cases so far.

Of the total conflict-era cases, 45 have been filed with the TRC while 12 belong to the CIED. RSS
