NHRC expresses concern over arson at NCELL towers

NHRCKathmandu, June 15: The National Human Rights Commission has expressed serious concerned over the incidents of arson and vandalism at various NCELL tower stations across the country by the Netra Bikram Chand-led Maoist party.

Stating that the incident of arson had affected citizens’ rights to independent communication, the Commission has urged the government to make an effective investigation into the incident, bring the culprits to justice and provide just compensation to the victim side.

Likewise, the Commission has in the statement, issued by spokesperson Mohana Ansari, also urged the government to probe the incident of the death of three persons in a cooking gas cylinder explosion at a shop in Mangalbazaar of Lalitpur recently, and provide compensation to the victim’s families. Taking over the incident, the Commission has also communicated to the local administration and Nepal Standards and Metrology Department for necessary action. RSS
