A bundle of questions

Poet SaritaDurga Lal KC (Dang) / Jun 18: Poet Sarita Tiwari’s poetry collection Prashna haru ko Karkhana (The Factory of Questions) was discussed amid a programme in Ghorahi.

The reading also had critic Abhay Shrestha and poet Bhupen in attendance, along with poetry enthusiasts. During the event, organised by Sabda Sikha Online, author Tiwari spoke about the genesis of her poems. “It is because we seek answers to the questions that a new discourse originates,” said Tiwari, “Factories in
general produce goods of same kind; factory inside a poet produces discourses of a different kind.”

She also shared that she is now comfortable in putting forth various questions to the society. “Those very questions have become my poems,” said she, “Some of such questions may seem infused with fury …However, I feel, my poems are more of progressive nature than they are pessimistic.”

Speaking during the event, critic Abhay Shreshtha said: “Literature should inspire life. The text that nudges one to suicide is regressive to humanity… Tiwari’s poems are progressive and are sure to inspire hope among readers.” Source: The Kathmandu Post
