Climber Luitel, SAG gold medalist Magar honoured

Nepal ScoutKathmandu / June 19: Nepal Scout has honoured Mt Everest climber Ashish Luitel and gold medalist of the South Asian Games-2016 Nima Gharti Magar.

Luitel and Magar received Rs 100,000 each amid a programme in the Capital on Sunday. Luitel successfully ascended the Mt Everest while Magar got the gold medal in Wushu.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Youth and Sports Satya Narayan Mandal said that the Scout has played a great role in building civic society and encouraged discipline.

He also recognised the efforts of athletes and climbers to raise dignity of the country in international level.

Advisor to the Scout Ram Badan Joshi praised the works and contribution of the Scout in the national and international levels.

Chief Commissioner of the Scout Rajib Dahal said that it aims at increasing its active members to 250,000 by 2025 from the existing 50,000 across the country. RSS
