Iron, copper, limestone discovered in 15 more places

government logoKathmandu / June 26: The Department of Mines and Geology has discovered 15 more places having the deposits of iron, copper and limestone.

Under Secretary at the Department Jayraj Ghimire informed that the exploration has resulted in the finding of iron, limestone and copper in various 15 places of Salyan, Tanahu, Udayapur and Dhading districts. “These minerals will be brought in use after excavation,” he added.

The Department has continued exploration of limestone in various places of Salyan, Palpa and Udayapur while iron in Tahanu and copper in Dhading. Earlier, it had traced 400 spots having the deposits of various minerals.

“After the exploration, the Department gives permission to the private companies for the excavation. Further study will help ascertain the quality and quantity of the minerals. He claimed that these minerals were usable.

Moreover, the Under Secretary said the Department has recently opened bidding for the excavation. The quantity of iron discovered in Nawalparasi and Bajhang would be ascertained soon, he added. RSS
