Nepal-Japan Political Consultation meeting begins in Kathmandu today

flagKathmandu / June 29: A meeting of Nepal-Japan Political Consultation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the countries started in Kathmandu today.

The meeting between high level officials of both the countries is said to dwell on discussions concerning to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan, while officials of the countries will exchange their views on various aspects of the mutual relations between the countries.

The meeting will also concentrate on Japan’s assistance to Nepal for the post-quake reconstructions and global and regional issues, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal (MoFA) said.

Nine representatives from Japan including Kasuya Nashida, Director-General, South and Southwest Asian Affairs Department and Japanese ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa have participated in the meeting while joint secretary of the MoFA Jhabindra Prasad Aryal leads 15 senior officers from various ministries like the MoFA, Education, Health, Finance, Home, Law, Physical Infrastructure, Energy, Industry, Commerce, Tourism and Forest, the National Planning Commission and the National Reconstruction Authority.
