Tourism Promotion Program in Bangkok

Moun EverestKathmandu / July 4: Nepal’s Embassy in Bangkok organized a tourism promotion program in Pattaya, Bangkok.

At the programme organized on July 1 under the slogan: ‘Nepal is Beautiful: Visit and Enjoy in Nepal’, more than 100 representatives from outbound travel and tour operators, media houses, and representatives from Thai government took part, said a press release issued by Nepal’s Embassy in Bangkok on Monday.

During the program, Nepali Ambassador to Thailand, Khaga Nath Adhikari, highlighted the potentialities and opportunities of tourism sectors in Nepal and strongly urged all the media persons to disseminate information about highly attractive tourism destinations and tourism products of Nepal through their media.

He also sought the meaningful cooperation of the travel and tour entrepreneurs to take tourists from permanent water-washed sea beaches of Thailand to permanent snow-covered Himalayas of Nepal.

Similarly, Deputy Chief of Mission Janga Bahadur Gurung made a detailed and comprehensive power-point presentation about Nepal, Nepali cultural heritages, the Himalayas, bio-diversities, and various kinds of adventurous tourism and recreation activities that a tourist can visit and enjoy in Nepal. He also elaborated about the system of visa, international and domestic transportation, accommodation etc. available to the visitors in Nepal.

Chairman of Thai-ASEAN Cultural and Economic Council, Bundit Sirithunyhong, delivered his impressive remarks on tourism attractions and potentialities of Nepal.

In addition to the presentation of video on Lumbini, tourism promotion materials like framed photos of Maya Devi Temple of Lumbini, Mt. Everest, Boudha Stupa, and Mount Fishtail along with posters of Mount Everest and those of Maya Devi Temple of Lumbini, and CD/DVD and brochures on major tourism attractions prepared by Nepal Tourism Board were distributed to all guests.

The program is expected to contribute to promote Nepal’s tourism among Thai citizens. RSS
