PM Oli says Jhamak Ghimire established as bold and realistic author

JhamakKathmandu / July 5: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said writer Jhamak Ghimire has established herself as a bold and realistic persona.

Speaking in a programme organised by the Jhamak Ghimire Sahityakala Pratishthan Nepal on the occasion of the 35th birthday of author Jhamak Ghimire today, PM Oli said Ghimire’s literary creations are an expression of boldness and freewill.

“Ghimire has exposed the truth in an independent manner without concern for whether anyone likes it or not. Whatever she has seen and experienced, she has penned it,” he said, adding that she did not write for fame or winning big prizes but has done out of her commitment to humanity, truth and beliefs.

The Prime Minister also expressed happiness over the Midwestern University’s decision to award the degree of honorary Ph D on Ghimire. “Writer Ghimire did not attend any school or university but she is being awarded Ph D for her unique capacity,” he said.

The PM also wished Ghimire happy birthday and said the government would provide financial assistance to her for her medical treatment. The government has already decided to provide Rs 500 thousand to her for this purpose. The state has also provided her land for accommodation so that it would be easy for her to avail of medical care as she would not have to travel to Kathmandu from her hometown Dhankuta back and forth in course of the medical treatment.

On the occasion, PM Oli launched Ghimire’s 13th literary work ‘Premil Akash’, an anthology of poems and the Hindi version of her famous book ‘Jeevan Kanda ki Phool’ and its video version.

A film based on the life of litterateur Ghimire is being made. It is to be directed by Binod Bista of Darjeeling, India. RSS
