Kankai School to provide hostel facility for hearing-impaired

government logoKakarvitta / July 6: A hostel is to be built for the mentally retarded students and those with hearing impairment of Kankai Higher Secondary School in Jhapa.

The cornerstone laying ceremony for the hostel building was held Tuesday.

The Ministry of Education is investing Rs 8.3 million to build the hostel which will have earthquake-resistant features, as said by school officiating principal Nirmal Kumar Khatiwada.

The school is the sole school in the eastern region that provides classes up to secondary level for the students with hearing loss and mental retardation. RSS
