NC General Secretary Koirala hospitalised

ShasankKathmandu / July 6: Nepali Congress General Secretary Dr Shashanka Koirala has been hospitalised, following sudden problems in his health.

He has been admitted to the Chabahil-based Om Hospital. He is being treated by keeping at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the hospital said.

He is in unconscious state, Nepal Students Union leader UP Lamichhane said.

The Koirala family said he had eaten Pizza on Tuesday night and had vomited several times then. He was rushed to OM Hospital.

According to hospital’s medical director Dr Harish Joshi, problems have seen in his respiratory system following excessive vomiting. The hospital is expected to update media about his health condition soon.

The Koirala family is learnt to have been discussing whether to take him abroad for treatment.

Cardiologist Dr Bhagawan Koirala has also reached the hospital. Meanwhile, Prime Minister KP Sharma visited the hospital this morning to take health updates of NC General Secretary Koirala. On the occasion, he instructed the doctors involved in Koirala’s treatment not to leave any stone unturned in his treatment, as said by PM’s personal secretary Ramesh Acharya.

Similarly, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel visited the hospital to take stock of the health condition of Koirala. RSS
