Minister Rai releases commemorative coins

New CoinKathmandu / July 10: Minister for Information and Communications, Sherdhan Rai, released the commemorative coins of Rs 1,000 and Rs 100 denominations on the golden anniversary of Nepal Philatelic Society on Sunday.

The commemorative coin of Rs 1,000 denomination is of sliver while of Rs 100 of cupronickel.

During the function, Minister Rai said Nepal has got the best constitution and the duties Nepalis have at present is to promote the constitution and develop the country.

The Madhesi political parties are repeatedly requested to hold talks but they turned deaf ears, he said, adding that only talks could ensure consensus.

Society Chairman Shankar Shrestha said the Society has contributed to the national prestige by participating in the international postage stamp exhibition and getting awards.

Similarly, Director General at the Postal Service Department, Drona Pokhrel, said the Society has played a significant role in promoting national identity. RSS
