Preparation to construct a modern Bir Hospital

Bir HospitalBhaktapur, July 12: The government has been making preparations to construct a modern Bir Hospital on 563 ropani of public land at Changunarayan Municipality-11 and 14 in Bhaktapur district.

Following an onsite visit of the area on Tuesday, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel directed Vice-Chancellor at the National Academy of Health Sciences, Ganeshman Gurung, to forward necessary process for the construction of the Hospital as the place is suitable for the same.

A team comprising Minister Poudel, Vice-Chancellor Gurung and doctors had carried out the onsite visit of the area. The government had announced to make the Bir hospital of international standard in the new budget programme. The government had been looking for land at different places to shift the Hospital to another place inside Kathmandu valley.

A delegation headed by CPN (UML) Changunarayan Town Committee Chairman Ramesh Budhathoki had on June 23 submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to construct the hospital at Changunarayan.

On the occasion, Minister Poudel said, “We looked land at nine different places for the construction of Bir Hospital. But this is suitable place for the same. Initiative to bring the land in the name of the Hospital will be started from today.”

Urging Minister Poudel to take a decision to construct the Hospital in Changunarayan, leaders of different political parties and locals said that they would provide necessary support in this regard. RSS
