Natural disaster claims 75 lives in a year

Nepal FloodBanke / July 14: As many as 75 people lost their lives to natural calamities in 15 districts of mid-western region during the current fiscal year.

Some 75 people died and physical property worth over Rs 742 million was destroyed in the incidents of natural calamities such as flood, landslide, storm, fire and lightning.

According to the Mid-Western Regional Police Office, the natural disasters had caused damages to 2,721 houses and sheds.

Likewise, during the period, 273 livestock were killed in the disaster. The flood, landslide and fire are common incidents of natural disaster in most of the districts of the region.RSS
