National cricket team defeats Indian Gymkhana cricket club

Kathmandu / July 15: Nepal’s national cricket team last night defeated home team Indian Gymkhana Cricket Club by 20 runs in a practice match in London in the United Kingdom.

With this, Nepal won two matches in total. Earlier on Wednesday, the Nepali team won first friendly match against the local amateur Free Foresters Cricket Club in London.

Losing the toss, Nepal made 162 runs in the stipulated 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets.

In the chase, the home team managed to secure only 142 runs all out in full overs.

For Nepali team, Sagar Pun made the highest 56 runs while Vice Captain Gyanendra Malla 38. Likewise, Raju Rijal contributed 24 runs not out.

Invited by the oldest Marylebone Cricket Club, England, the Nepali team is in London to play a practice match in preparation to play World Cricket League Championship match against Netherlands in its homeland next month. RSS
