ICC panel in Nepal to take stock cricket row
Kathmandu, July 25: A panel of International Cricket Council (ICC) has arrived in Nepal Monday to monitor the dispute surfaced in Nepali cricket of late.
A three-member ICC panel landed in Kathmandu earlier today, informed National Sports Council (NSC) Press Advisor Rohit Dahal. The team comprises ICC Legal Section Chief Paul McMohan, ICC Asia Development Manager Bandula Barnapura and Amar Shekh of Finance Section.
Likewise, ICC Chief Executive Officer David Richardson and Associate Representative Imran Khwaja are also travelling to Nepal on Thursday. The ICC had decided to suspend the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on April 25 this year after the Nepali cricket row took a nasty turn. The annual meeting of the ICC recently held at Edinburg of Scotland had endorsed the suspension of CAN.
The panel is said to find out the truth and present it to the ICC for concrete decision regarding Nepal’s cricket future. Team Nepal is participating in international championships despite CAN suspension. RSS
