6th Assitej Asia meeting to take place in Sri Lanka from August 18

AssitejKathmandu / Aug 13: The sixth Assitej Asia meeting is set to take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka from August 18 to 20.

Nepal will also be participating in the capacity of a member country of the Assitej International working in uniting theatres, organisations and individuals throughout the world who make theatre for children and young people.

Started from Japan in 2010, the meeting was already held in China, Korea and India.

The meeting is expected to be participated also by other countries like Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Thailand.

Theatre artist Diparsan Jung Rana, who will represent Nepal in the meeting, is said to present a report on theatre-related activities of Nepal as a whole and efforts made in the field of children’s theatre.

Nepal became member of the Assitej in 2002. Established by theatre artists involving with the European child theatre in Paris in France, the Assitej International is also affiliated with United Nations UNESCO and International Theatre Institute. RSS
