Nepal defeats Netherlands by 19 runs

nepl-cricketKathmandu / Aug 15: Nepal has defeated the Netherlands by 19 runs in the second match of the fourth stage under the ICC World Cricket league championship.

In the match that concluded in Amsterdam, Netherlands earlier tonight, Nepali bowler restricted the Dutch batsmen to 198 runs taking all 10 wickets in 48.3 overs after posting a victory target of 218 runs.

All five bowlers used by Nepal took a wicket each, including two each for captain Paras Khadka, Sompal Kami and Basant Regmi.

Earlier, put into bat, Nepali batsmen made a respectable total of 217 runs at the cost of 9 wickets in 50 overs, riding on 84 runs by captain Paras Khadka. Vice-captain Gyanendra Malla also chipped in with 39 runs. Sagar Pun contributed 45 runs to the team’s total.

Nepal had lost to the same team by seven wickets in the first game held on Saturday. RSS
