Secretary Subedi honoured with the best civil servant award

Shant Raj SubediKathmandu / Sept 6: Secretary at the Commission of Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Shanta Raj Subedi is to be honoured with the ‘best civil servant award’. Secretary Subedi has recently been transferred to the Finance Ministry.

The prize carries a purse of Rs. 200,000. Subedi was chosen for the award by a panel headed by Chief Secretary Dr Som Lal Subedi, according to Information Officer at the Ministry of General Administration Gomadevi Chemjong.

Likewise, 10 civil servants are to be honoured with the outstanding civil service award this year. They include Joint Attorney General Kiran Poudel, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Karki, Chief psychology expert Khagendra Prasad Subedi of the Public Service Commission, deputy comptroller general Gajendra Bahadur Shrestha and Joint Secretary at the Home Ministry Pradip Raj Kandel.

Also to be honoured with the civil service award are Under Secretary at the Ministry of Law and Justice Hum Bahadur KC, Director at the Office of the Auditor General Madhav Prasad Lamichhane, Under-secretary at the CIAA Haribabu Pokharel, Under-secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister Gokul Basnet and Engineer at the Water Supply and Sanitation Office in Bajhang Krishna Bahadur Bogati. The prize carries a purse of Rs. 100,000 each.

Another 30 civil servants are to be honoured with the civil service prize carrying a purse of Rs. 50,000 each. The prizes will be presented at a function to be held in the capital on Wednesday to mark the Civil Service Day, according to Under-secretary at the Ministry Suprabha Khanal. Fifty ex-civil servants will also be honoured on the occasion. There are around 83,000 civil servants in the country. RSS
