Matrisishu Miteri Hospital a symbol of two country relations: President Bhandari

miteri-hospitalPokhara / Sept 28: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said the relations between Matrisisu Miteri Hospital and the Komagane city of Japan have been the symbol of sisterly relations.

Inaugurating the 25-bed maternity hospital located at Batulechaur here on Wednesday, President Bhandari expressed belief that the hospital would provide necessary health service to women, children and expecting mothers.

“Nepal and Japan have maintained harmonious relations for long. Japan is one of our key development partners,” she said, urging everyone to promote Pokhara as the city of health tourism.

Various persons contributing to construction of the hospital were honoured on the occasion.

On the occasion, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Masashi Ogawa, expressed the confidence that the hospital would help reduce child and maternal mortalities.

Former Minister for Health Khagraj Adhikari said one of the health challenges facing Nepal is inability to reduce infant mortality. RSS
