Nepal in semi-finals of AFC solidarity cup

Kathmandu / Nov 8: Nepal has entered the semi-finals of the AFC solidarity cup football tournament underway in Malaysia.

In the final group match held there on Tuesday, Nepal defeated Brunei 3-0 to top the group and book a berth in the semi-finals.

Nawayug Shrestha, Bharat Khawas and Bimal Ghartimagar scored a goal each in the 46th, 72nd and 80th minute of the match respectively.

Nepal had played a goalless draw in its first match against East Timor. Only three teams were left in the group after Pakistan and Bangladesh pulled out in the last minute.

Solidarity Cup is organised by the Asian Football Confederation for its members in the region that are lowly ranked in the FIFA ranking list. RSS
