Nepalis in the USA help rebuild quake-damaged school in Dhading

nrnDhading / Nov 18: The Bhanubhakta Lower Secondary School at Ratmate, Deurali-4 in Dhading district has got a new six-room building in the place of its quake-damaged eight-room block, thanks to the Nepalis residing in the San Francisco Bay Area in the USA.

Bay Area Nepali Women Organization (BANWO) had provided three million rupees for the reconstruction of the quake-damaged building. Lawmaker Rajya Laxmi Shrestha handed over the key of the building to the Chairperson of the School Management Committee amid a programme held at the School today. She pressed for enhancing the quality of education as well as enabling environment for those students quitting school to start attending classes.

With the new building, the compulsion for the school to run its teaching-learning activities under the open sky has ended, added a parent Shanker Raj Bharati.

Aadhar Foundation in Nepal had taken the lead to bring in the fund for the reconstruction, according to Foundation member Rana Bahadur Khadka.

Similarly, Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) USA Chapter Vice-President DB Bhattarai explained that the aid was provided to the school so that no student should be deprived of education. RSS
