NAC restarts Thamkharka flights

NACKhotang / Nov 18: The national flag-carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has resumed flights to and from Thamkharka Airport that lies in the southern part of mountainous district Khotang.

The NAC flights to Thamkharka remained suspended since the second week of May due to rains. A test flight to and from Thamkharka was made on November 5, Airport station manager Narendra Uadas said.

Now, flights here are in regular operation, he said. The NAC has published the Thamkharka flight schedule with two flights in a week (Wednesday and Saturday).

The resumption of the flights has benefited the people of 20 VDCs of south Khotang and including of neighboring district Bhojpur. The district has altogether three airports. Others two are Lamidanda and Khanidada. RSS
