Court seeks response from four CIAA commissioners

Supreme CourtKathmandu / Nov 20: The Supreme Court has issued a show cause notice in the name of four commissioners of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, seeking a response in writing about the reason behind their appointment not fulfilling the constitution requirements.

A single bench of Chief Justice Sushila Karki issued the order to the four defendants to reply within 15 days to the questions raised over their appointment in a writ petition filed by advocate Dakhya Bahadur Chettri. The writ petition registered on November 17 argues that the appointment of Dip Basnyat, Nabin Kumar Ghimire, Ganesh Raj Joshi and Sabitri Thapa Gurung were illegal. RSS
