No trouble to hold civic polls on consensus: CEC Yadav

Election CommissionChitwan / Nov 25: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav said there would be no difficulty in holding civic polls once an agreement is reached in this regard.

Fixing the date for the elections and formulating policy to that end are also integral part of the consensus, he added.

Addressing a programme organised by the Election Commission in Chitwan on Friday to hold mock civic poll and an interaction on the elections among political parties and concerned authorities, he argued that the three levels of elections could not take place at the same time.

He also said the commission was making efforts to ensure voting rights of Nepali people living abroad.

On the occasion, Chief District Officer Dambaru Prasad Niraula said the commission should be mindful of holding the elections in a free and fair manner. RSS
