NHRC urges govt. to be serious to save life of agitating Dr KC

dr_govindaKathmandu / Nov 28: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called upon the government to find out a solution through dialogue to save life of agitating Dr Govinda KC.

Dr KC has been staging a hunger strike at the premises of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for the past two weeks putting forth various demand including reforms in medical education sector.

Issuing a press release on Monday, NHRC Spokesperson Mohana Ansari drew the attention of the government to be sensitive to save the life of Dr KC. The NHRC also urged the government not to allow repetition of such incidents by finding a solution of the problems through talks.

The press release stated that the NHRC found Dr KC’s health deteriorating.

The NHRC has also urged the government to ensure availability of clean drinking water, food and toilet as well as arrangement of quality health service in the hospital. RSS
