TRC sends letter to Peace Ministry requesting for term extension

Kathmandu / Feb 5: The Truth and Reconciliation Commission on Sunday sent a letter to the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction requesting for the extension of its tenure.

The term of the Commission formed to carry out investigation into conflict-era incidents two years ago is expiring on February 9.

The Commission for Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons had sent a letter to the Ministry on January 25 for the extension of its term.

There is a legal provision to extend the tenure of the Commissions for one more year if they fail to carry out assigned task in time. RSS
