NRA Directive Committee meet forms panel to prepare draft on fund mobilisation

Nepal Reconstruction AuthorityKathmandu / Feb 13: A meeting of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA)’s Directive Committee today constituted a committee headed by the Chief Secretary to prepare a draft for the mobilisation of reconstruction fund.The newly formed committee comprises secretary of the respective ministry as the member-secretary.

The meeting that took place at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers under the chair of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has given a week to the committee to come up with the draft, according to NRA Chief Executive Officer Prof Dr Govinda Raj Pokhrel.

Besides, the meeting has assigned its district coordination committees to look after public complaint over the reconstruction works and address them accordingly. The complaint left to be sorted out at the district-level will be addressed by the central level and one can move the appellate committee in case of dissatisfaction with the centre’s decision. Likewise, the meeting agreed on the issue relating to the draft preparation for the establishment of an integrated settlement in the quake-hit areas. Plans for the resettlement of the people residing in vulnerable zone after the quake are forthcoming, he added.

More, the meeting agreed in principle to address the demand of Village Development Committees (VDCs) secretaries working in the 14 quake-affected districts for tiffin allowance. He said the NRA would reach to a decision on this matter after holding consultations with the Ministry of Finance. RSS
