Home Minister Nidhi directs security chiefs to maintain law and order; SSP Khanal appointed Nepal Police spokesperson

Bimalendra NidhiKathmandu / Feb 14: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi has directed the chiefs of security agencies to maintain law and order and curb social crimes.

In a meeting with the chiefs of security agencies held in Sinha Durabr on Tuesday Home Minister Niddhi directed them to this effect.

Dr. Dinesh Chandra Pokharel and Singha Bahadur Shrestha, who were assigned new responsibilities only yesterday, had reached Singh Durbar this afternoon.

Nidhi directed them to carry out their responsibilities taking the border and internal security into consideration, especially toward curbing gold smuggling, drug trafficking and social crimes.

SSP Khanal appointed Nepal Police spokesperson

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sarbendra Khanal has been appointed the Nepal Police’s new spokesperson. The police headquarters made the appointment yesterday.

Earlier, Khanal headed the Metropolitan Crime Division before his transfer to the Inspector General’s Secretariat at the headquarters two weeks ago.

His predecessor, SSP Thakur Gyawali, was transferred to the Mid-Western Regional Police Office in Nepalganj. RSS
