Socialism thru development, not revolution: PM Dahal

PrachandaRolpa / Feb 17: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday said socialism could be achieved not through revolutions and movements, but through development activities.

Inaugurating the first Rolpa Festival in Libang of Rolpa today, the Prime Minister said economic prosperity was a must to achieve socialism.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said some forces were trying to thwart the government’s efforts to take rights of Singhadarbar to villages.

The CPN Maoist Centre Chairman also said war tourism could be effectively promoted in Rolpa, which had been the stronghold of his party during the armed conflict.

Dahal, who was elected to the first Constituent Assembly from the district, said he would work for the development of the district forever.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Maoist leader Barshaman Pun had accompanied the Prime Minister during the visit. The Festival would last till February 23. RSS
