533 km pipeline laid for Melamchi water in Kathmandu

Melamchi Drinking Water Project pipelineKathmandu / Feb 18: Of the total 670-kilometre water pipeline to be laid in Kathmandu Valley for the Melamchi Water Supply Project, works of laying 533 kilometre pipeline has been completed, said the Project Implementation Directorate at the Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited.

The information was shared at a programme organised by the Directorate in the Capital on Friday.

The Project Director Tiresh Prasad Khatri said laying pipeline at various 40 places was ongoing.

On managing dust emanated from digging roads to lay pipeline, he said efforts were on in this regard as per the Environment Protection Act and the Safeguard Policy of Asian Development Bank. RSS
