Immunization programme postponed infinitely due to workers’ stir

ImmunizationKathmandu / Feb 19: The national immunization programme has been affected due to the ongoing protest by health workers.

Child Health Division under the Ministry of Health had set the programme for February 17 and 18, but had to postpone it until infinite period owing to the protest, the Division said.

Although the Division had written Ministry to set a new timeframe for the programme, the process is yet to be taken forward, it said, adding that other general vaccination programmes have also been affected.

The Division said its call to the protestors to cooperate with the programme has not been heeded.

Meanwhile, the health workers, who have taken to the streets putting forth various demands, including the implementation of the Health Service Act 9 (Kha), have said they would not cooperate with the government until their demands are met. RSS
