Campaign launched to set-up e-library in community schools

schoolMyagdi / Feb 22: A campaign has been launched to establish e-library at community schools in Myagdi district with the support of migrant Nepalis.

According to Myagdi Migrant Nepalis Association (MONA), e-library has been set up in educational institutions by collecting financial support through ‘facebook’. MONA has planned to extend the e-library in other 20 schools in the second phase.

Myagdi folks currently living in foreign land for various purpose including employment, study and business, collected the financial aid to establish the e-library by launching a campaign through ‘facebook’.

MONA Treasurer, Chakra Bahadur Thapa, said that they launched the campaign of establishing e-library with an objective of helping to improve educational quality of the community schools as well as making information technology accessible in rural areas.

Thapa, also the coordinator of the E-Library Taskforce of MONA, said that one million rupees have been provided to Nepal Library Foundation on Tuesday as the expenditure required for the arrangement to establish additional 20 e-libraries in the second phase.

Software incorporating curriculum of class 2-7 and different 8,000 books has been installed in the e-libraries. RSS
