Museum to be set up for preserving Tharu culture-State Minister Baniya

Kanchanpur / Feb 23: Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Indra Bahadur Baniya has said the government is setting up museums in Bardiya and Kanchanpur with a view to preserving Tharu culture.

Inaugurating the Shuklaphanta regional industrial trade fair organized by Jhalari Pipladi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday, he said the museums would be established to preserve art, culture, customs, language, attires and ornaments of Tharu community.

The State Minister also shared that the Ministry has already allocated Rs 150 million for the setup of a museum of Chaudhary Dagaura Tharu in Bardiya and equal amount of Rs 150 million for a museum of Rana Tharu community in Kanchanpur.

He stressed the need to preserve peculiar art and culture of all communities since it would be a significant move to attract tourists from different parts of the world. RSS
