Consensus forged to proceed statute amendment process, PM claims

PrachandaLokendra Khanal / Rukum, Feb 23: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the constitution amendment bill which was stuck for long in the parliament would be taken ahead.

The Prime Minister said that the ruling and opposition political parties have forged consensus to keep the amendment bill in due process.

Inaugurating the First Mid-West Rukum Festival in Musikot of Rukum on Thursday, the PM said that the UML and other political parties have come to a consensus as responsibility of constitution implementation lies on the shoulder of all parties.

Maintaining national unity in the country by forging consensus among all political parties and holding three-tier of election in time is the key responsibility of the government, Dahal added.

He warned that the country would plunge into a serious crisis if all three levels of elections were not conducted in time. “The government is working to conduct the polls by uniting Tarai-Madhes to mountainous region and from east to the west. I am in a serious effort to unite all sides to take the constitution implementation process ahead in a credible way.” RSS
